Roland's V-Tour™ Series of V-Drums® is already popular, but the latest upgrades should put it over the top. The snare drum pad is Roland's dual-trigger PD-80R, offers separate triggering for the head and the rim. The kit contains four of Roland's new dual trigger rubber pad, the PD-8, so you can play drim shots and bow/edge sounds in conjunction with the TD-6V module. A pair of CY-8 cymbal pads deliver a swinging motion, bow/edge triggering capability and excellent choke response; they also offer a visual improvement, looking more like metal cymbals. Another new component is the KD-8 Upright Kick Trigger. This vertical design offers several improvements; it can accommodate dual kick pedals, and its improved rigidity means cleaner response to your pedal movements. The feel is far better than reverse-pedal designs. The FD-8 is a new Hi-Hat controller that realistically captures transitions between open and closed.

All this new hardware connects to the upgraded TD-6V module. This contains 1,024 drum and percussion sounds, plus 262 backing instruments, and delivers a full 64 voices of polyphony, making it easy to stack sounds without running out of firepower. Drum patterns and kits are newly minted by Roland's creative staff, and dual-trigger inputs make the most of the new pads' capabilities. Large, glowing buttons mean you can see the controls even on a dark stage. Effects include Ambience and two-band overall EQ. The 12,000-note, 6-part sequencer holds up to 100 User songs, comes with 170 Preset Songs, and yields 192 ticks per quarter note resolution.
